In September 2019, Apple separated the single iOS into two: iOS (for iPhones) and a new iPadOS specifically for iPads.

If you have recently upgraded to iPadOS 13 or above, you may notice that the install button is grayed out on your download page. Here is how to correct this with 2 simple steps:

 

  1. Go to Settings > Safari and under the General area select “Downloads” and change this to “On My iPad”.

 

2. Next, scroll down to the Settings for Websites area and select “Request Desktop Website” and toggle this off so that iPad still uses mobile website settings.

 

These steps will then make the button visible (you may need to refresh the safari browser) and allow you to download the app and have it automatically install it.
