Listener Configuration
A listener is the mapping between the IP interface and the ArcMail appliance’s internal email system. An appliance typically has 3 configured listeners: inbound, outbound and archive.
The appliance requires a dedicated IP address. This section describes how to create and assign the archiver service to one of the IP addresses and configure the settings.
Perform the following steps to create a Listener:
1 Click the CONFIGURATION icon.
2 Click Listener Configuration.
3 Click the Create New Listener button to create a new listener. The Edit a Listener
screen appears.
4 Configure the following fields:
• Listener - Specifies the name of the listener.
• Interface - Specifies the interface (default: eth0).
• Hostname - Specifies the hostname that was entered during installation.
Example: appliance.domain.com
• Address - Enter the IP address associated with the listener that was entered during installation. For a list of IP addresses, see “Network Configuration>Network Interfaces”.
• Port - Enter the inbound listener port (default: 25).
5 Click Save listener.
6 Click Apply Configuration Changes.
7 Click Apply.
Perform the following steps to edit a listener:
1 Click the CONFIGURATION icon.
2 Click Listener Configuration.
3 Click the listener name to edit the listener.
4 Configure any of the following fields:
• Listener - Specifies the name of the listener.
• Interface - Specifies the interface (default: eth0).
• Hostname - Specifies the hostname that was entered during installation.
Example: appliance.domain.com
• Address - Enter the IP address associated with the listener that was entered during installation. For a list of IP addresses, see “Network Configuration>Network Interfaces”.
• Port - Enter the inbound listener port (default: 25).
5 Click Save Listener.
6 Click Apply Configuration Changes.
7 Click Apply to confirm.
Note: Click the Delete listener button to delete listener mapping.
