Network Storage
The ArcMail appliance stores backups locally by default. The Network Storage screen provides configuration of the storage if a network storage location is desired.
Procedure 1-30- Perform the following steps to configure a network storage location:
Step Action
1 Click the CONFIGURATION icon.
2 Click Network Storage.
3 Configure the following options:
• Configure Backup Repository
— Backup Repository Location - Select Networked Storage for backups on network storage or Local for local appliance backups. Select either “Local” or “Networked Storage”. A local repository means that you do not have to configure a network storage server. However, this limits the amount of storage provided on the appliance and reduces your control over the backup bundles.
• Configure Networked Storage
— Networked Storage Type: - Select either Windows Share or NFS. NFS shares must be writable by the root user.
— Storage Server Name (or IP address) - Enter the hostname or the IP address of the network storage device.
— Mount Point (NFS) or Windows Share Name (Windows/CIFS) - Enter the name of the mount point of the share.
The following 3 fields are only used for a Windows Share:
• Windows Share Username - Enter a user with permission to access the share.
• Windows Share Password - Enter the user’s password for the share.
• Windows Share Domain - Enter the domain name where the share is located.
4 Click Save. The configuration information remains “locked” in the fields.
